Japanese Strawberries are not grown commercially because they are too soft and would be hard to pack. But they are perfect for the home gardener. They have the most amazing taste. Very sweet. Ai means love in Japanese and we are sure you will love these berries! Ideal for growing in Tasmania and Victoria. Strawberries should be planted in to prepared soil. We recommend digging through some mulch and well rotted manure prior to planting. Strawberries are easy and rewarding to grow. Strawberries flourish in well drained, fertile soils and need at least six hours sun a day. It is a good idea to mulch your Strawberries to keep the area free of weeds. You should also protect your Strawberries from slugs, snails and birds. Strawberries grow well in pots, vegetable gardens or ornamental beds. The taste of home grown strawberries is so much sweeter than the ones from the supermarket, they are simply irresistible.
