Hellebore Christmas Rose

This is a species variety that is rarely seen. The leaves may brown and fall in winter before being quickly replaced by fresh foliage. This helps to show the flowers off a little more. For the shady spots in your garden. Christmas Rose or Helleborus niger are durable and versatile in the garden. They grow best in bright shade or part shade and beneath deciduous trees. You can also plant in pots. The flowers are long lasting and measure 5-8cm across. Plant Christmas Rose in well drained, humus rich soil. Water to establish, keep moist when in flower. The plants become dry tolerant as they establish. Winter Rose flowers can be picked, you can use the stems in a vase or cut them off to float the blooms in a bowl.
