Late summer to early autumn the twining stems are adorned with coral red pendant flowers. Each flower is 1.5-2cm across in clusters of 2-3.
Coral plant has pale green foliage that ages to mid to dark green. The leaves are 10cm long on twining stems. They are evergreen.
Coral Plant or Berberidopsis coralline is a woody climber from Chiles moist woodlands. Plant in a bright light or morning sun position. Plant where it can be trained up a trellis, fence, tree or similar. Alternately you can have them scramble over a rock garden or wall.
Humus rich, moist, well drained soil is ideal. They are frost hardy once established. Coral Plant is low maintenance and will rarely need pruning. Moderate growth.
