The mounding grey green is foliage topped with tall stems of lilac white and pink flowers. The bracts have a hint of green through them which really sets off the colours.
The foliage of Archibald Clary Sage has a pleasant fragrance.
This is an eminent form of Clary Sage collected by Jim and Jenny Archibald while they were travelling in Turkey.
Grow Clary Sage in a sunny location in well drained soil. They are dry tolerant once established and look wonderful in beds, borders or dry gardens. They have a vigorous growth and are easy care.
Dead head spent flowers on Archibald Clary Sage, after the first flush to encourage re-bloom. It is a semi evergreen to herbaceous variety which should be pruned hard in winter or early spring.
It will produces viable seed but it is not invasive, more a welcome surprise.
