Near black flowers bloom in dense racemes.
This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

Hollyhock 'The Watchman' is a good border plant that prefers humus rich soil and likes lots of fertiliser. The tall stems are perfect for creating height in your beds. The flowers form along the stems in summer. The deep colouring creates drama in the garden, each bloom is 7-8cm across. Remove spent flower stems of Hollyhock by cutting off at the base. This will encourage more flowers and keep the plant healthy. Leave the second flush of flowers on until the seed heads drop. Hollyhock 'The Watchman' or Alcea rosea should be grown in a sunny location in well drained, humus rich soil. Protect from strong winds, or stake. Water to establish and keep moist during active growth. Hollyhock 'The Watchman' is an heirloom variety that has stood the test of time.
