Berberis Little Favourite
A favourite for foliage.
This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

Berberis 'Little Favourite' has dense foliage. The leaves are burgundy purple and red and turn a bright red and orange in autumn. In spring, small cream flowers open, adding a nice contrast to the foliage. The blooms are followed in summer and autumn by small, red, ornamental berries.
Berberis are compact shrubs with interesting foliage and stunning autumn colour. Berberis make lovely dwarf, specimen trees, can be used for small hedges or even in pots. They are super low maintenance, requiring only a light prune after flowering every other year to maintain form.
Plant Berberis in humus rich, well drained soil. Ideally plant in a morning sun to lightly shaded position for best foliage colour. The branches have spiny shoots which is where it gets its common name, Japanese Barberry.
