A colourful selection of single flowering freesias for your enjoyment. Reliable colour. Freesias are a spring must have. Bergunden Freesias are single flowers with an unforgettable fragrance. Large, clear, bright florets open in profusion, with a strong cloud of fragrance. Freesias are easy to grow bulbs that are vigorous and hardy by nature. They grow best in full sun to light shade in a well drained soil. If grown in light shade, their colour tends to last a little longer than in full sun, though in full sun you will have more blooms. If they are not getting enough light they will flop over. The bulbs are best left to naturalise and will only need to be lifted for division every three or four years. Freesias are suitable for pots, mass plantings, beds and borders. Plant them somewhere you can appreciate their delightful fragrance. The blooms last well in a vase and should be picked as the first flower opens. Keep cut flowers away from fruit and vegetables as they are sensitive to ethylene, and this will make the flowers flop.
