Matisse was a pioneer in modern art. His work broke with convention and took colour to a whole new level. This 'avant-garde' Lilium collection named in his honour pays homage to his fondness for eccentric colour. The unusual combinations, spotting and patterns on these Lilies are striking. We hope they inspire you to create a masterpiece your garden.
Oriental Liliums add glamour and fragrance to the garden. They are also tough, withstanding our hot summers. Plant Oriental Liliums in a permanent position in the garden, the longer they establish the more flowers they will bear. Ensure you fertilise your Oriental Liliums well, this will ensure the best blooms. In warmer climates, grow your Oriental Liliums in part shade or morning sun so the flowers last longer.
Simply plant, your Asiatic Liliums, fertilise and enjoy. Leave them in the ground to establish and they will bring you years of joy. In fact, the longer Liliums have to establish the blooms they produce. Choose a humus rich, well drained soil in a sunny location. They will appreciated afternoon shade in warmer climates.
