Campanula 'Sarastro'
Invaluable and low maintenance.
This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

The deep purple bells are saturated with colour and the petals have a nice shine to them. They hang from narrow stems (that are generally strong enough to support themselves), creating a lovely, upright compact plant. Each bloom is around 5cm long and lasts well in a vase.
The heart shaped foliage of Campanula 'Sarastro' is light to mid green and provides a lush base. This plant is more heat tolerant than your average Campanula and in ideal conditions provides a secondary flower flush.
Campanula ‘Sarastro’ is a cross of C. punctata and C. trachelium and will not produce seed. It’s sterility will result in a longer lasting show and there is no need to deadhead, just sit back and enjoy the show.
Plant Campanula 'Sarastro' in moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil. It will slowly spread with rhizomes to form a decent clump. Keep an eye out for slugs and snails, especially for new plants – the good news is rabbits aren’t keen on the foliage. Remove spent flowers to tidy at the end of the season or in spring before the new growth.
Campanulas are commonly known as Bellflowers. Campanula is Latin for little bell. It is a rich and valuable group of plants to draw from, especially if you love blue.
