Winter Rose Black Betty

A stunning single Winter Rose with deeply coloured, almost black petals. The blooms have cream coloured stamens that provide a handsome contrast. Winter Roses have handsome, evergreen foliage and blooms from winter right into spring.
Winter Roses have a long lasting floral display from winter to spring. Use them freely to fill the shady spots in your garden they are so hardy and easy to car for.
Winter Rose, or Hellebores are durable and versatile in the garden. They grow best beneath deciduous trees, in filtered light or part shade (they don't tend to flower as well in heavy shade). You can also plant Winter Rose in beds sheltered from hot afternoon sun or even in pots. The flowers are long lasting and measure 5-8cm across.
You can choose to cut the old Winter Rose foliage back hard in autumn. This will keep new foliage vigorous and healthy and best show off the winter blooms.
Try picking and floating the blooms of Winter Rose in a shallow glass dish for a sophisticated centre piece that will bring colour inside for the winter months.
