Plant Cottage Gladioli for a feast of showy blooms. Each corm produces 2 or 3 spikes with up to 7 flowers spilling from each! What’s more, there is no need to stake these low maintenance bulbs as they have compact and strong stems making the flowers ideal for cutting and filling your home with colour.

The flowers of Cottage Gladioli are much daintier than traditional Gladioli, making them perfect for mingling among other perennials in the garden. If you are short on garden space but need more colour, Cottage Gladioli are a great solution. Tuck into small corners of the garden, for a cheerful colour splurge in late spring.

Cottage Gladioli bulbs are just as hardy as their larger counterparts and like a similar growing environment. Plant into a well drained soil in a sunny position, they need around six hours sun to thrive. They are both heat and frost tolerant. The bulbs are best left in the ground year after year and will bear more blooms as they establish. You will need to dig and divide only every four or five years.

Flowers should be picked as the first bloom opens.
