Stunning, mauve blue flowers cluster over beautiful, lush, fern like foliage. This breathtaking botanical treat is a must for collectors. This dreamy spring show can repeat in autumn with spot flowering in summer.
The delicate, fern like, light green foliage has a hint of yellow. The flowers of Corydalis omeiensis are an unusual shape, They are tubular with reflexed spurs.
Corydalis omeiensis is a herbaceous perennial that dies back in winter. Grows best in humus rich, moist, well drained soil. Grow in a morning sun, afternoon shaded position. Water in and keep fairly moist, they don’t like to dry out during active growth but will rot if left to sit in water. The flowers are a magnet for bees and other beneficial garden insects.
Grow Corydalis omeiensis in rock gardens, alpine gardens or special spots in the garden. Protect from strong winds. Keep an eye out for slugs and snails who find the leaves just as appealing as gardeners.
Suitable for growing in pots, but you will need to ensure you water well, as potting mix is perfectly drained and don’t forget to add some fertiliser in spring.
