The peach and apricot coloured blooms in profusion summer to autumn.
The Agastache Party Time series boasts compact plants with strong, upright stems. The plants have outstanding heat and drought tolerance.
They are suitable for both gardens and pots.
Agastache stands up to the summer heat. The fragrant, toothed foliage is mid green. It is both compact and well branched. The leaves of Agastache has a strong mint - anise fragrance. This is strongest when brushed up against, so if you like it, plant it by a pathway. The foliage grows at the base of the narrow flower stems.
The flowers of Agastache have the same fragrance as the foliage. Ideally, you should dead head Agastache flowers regularly to encourage more blooms.
Tolerant of poor soils so long as they are well drained, Agastache are ideal for providing long lasting colour as a dry garden or border plant.
Agastache plants prefer full sun to light shade. Agastache need water to establish, and then only really need topping up if rainfall is low. However, the flowering season will last longer if the plant is kept moist.
We recommend you cut back your Agastache to the ground in winter to maintain a healthy, dense bush.
Agastache is also known as 'Hummingbird Mint', and is a native to the south western U.S. It is an excellent plant for attracting birds, bees and beneficial insects to your garden.
