The Water Lily Tulip 'The First'
The first to bloom.
This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

A stunning species Tulip with creamy petals. The reverse has a tapering stripe of carmine pink that adds to the sophistication of the flower. The inner petals are cream with a golden base.
The green foliage has a handsome purple variegation. The blooms open on shorter stems, to 20cm. Also known as Waterlily Tulips because the flowers have similar characteristics.
Species Tulips have a more relaxed or whimsical feel than the common hybridized varieties. If planted in a well drained soil in a spot that does not get too hot over summer then the bulbs can be left in the ground for many years. Species Tulips are ideal for rock gardens, lawn plantings, pots or towards the front of a border.
