Hippeastrum Sonatini Veneto
Frost tolerant and easy care.
This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

Sonatini 'Veneto' has bright, salmon pink petals with a brushed cream centre.
Sonatini Hippeastrums are cold hardy Hippeastrums with that tropical feel. In fact, they can be grown across Australian from cold to tropical climates, without the need for annual digging!
Each Sonatini Hippeastrum bulb will produce two or three stems. Each stem will bloom with up to four or five flowers. The longer the bulbs have to establish the more blooms you will be rewarded with. Each flower is 6-12cm across.
These Dwarf Hippeastrums will grow and thrive in cool climates down to -15 Celsius. So even Southern states can leave the bulbs in the ground, so easy. In these areas they are semi evergreen, Sonatini Hippeastrums will remain evergreen in the Northern states. Of course, like all Hippeastrums they can be grown in pots where they can be bought indoors for display.
Sonatini Hippeastrums are relatively new to Australia and they are taking it by storm. They are a little smaller than your average Hippeastrum, but they make up for it with their vigorous growth and easy going nature.
Plant Sonatini Hippeastrums in moderately fertile to humus rich, moist, well drained soil. Choose a sunny position and keep the soil free of weeds. Water to establish then only if rainfall is low in active growth.
