Snowdrop Anemone Madonna

Late spring to summer, Snowdrop Anemone 'Madonna' shines with plenty of blooms atop dense foliage. The flowers have a soft fragrance and are followed by fluffy seed heads which are an attraction in themselves.

Snowdrop Anemones are great in combination with Daffodils and Bluebells as their foliage emerges, it will disguise the fading leaves of the earlier spring flowering varieties.

Grow Snowdrop Anemone 'Madonna' toward the front of beds, as a shaded ground cover, in rock gardens or containers.

The mid green, glossy leaves are 5-15cm across. It is known as basal foliage because it grows low to the ground or at ground level.

Plant Snowdrop Anemone 'Madonna' in full sun to semi shade. They are quite shade tolerant. Well drained, humus rich soil is ideal. Water to establish and keep moist in active growth. In a sunny position they will require more watering.

Snowdrop Anemone 'Madonna' is a woody based perennial that will spread with root suckers. These are easily controlled by cutting them off as required, or digging to share with friends.
