The long flowering, upright, leafy stems are covered in narrow leaves. Topping the stems are clusters of violet blue flowers. The long lasting vivid colour is amazing with the reds of Roses or Heleniums.
The flowers look great and last well in a vase. Campanula 'Pritchard's Variety' holds the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit. The strong stems don't require staking.
Plant Campanula 'Pritchard's Variety' in moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil. It will slowly spread with rhizomes to form a decent clump.
Campanulas are commonly known as Bellflowers. The botanical name of Campanula 'Pritchard's Variety' is Campanula lactiflora. Campanula is Latin for little bell. Lactiflora means milky flower.
