Fully double mid pink flowers, fading slightly towards the edge. Peony ‘Dr Alexander Fleming’ has that oh so sweet fragrance. It is a hybrid of the old favourite ‘Sarah Bernhardt’ (and the lesser known ‘Bunker Hill’).
Peony ‘Dr Alexander Fleming’ is a big flower producer and grows to 90cm with a nice, bushy form.
NOTE: Orders with Peony Roses will be posted June 18th 2019 onwards.
Peony Roses are vigorous garden plants with opulent blooms that make wonderful cut flowers.
Peony Roses look exotic and temperamental and yet they are hardy and grow well in cool to temperate Australian gardens. So why not spoil yourself and enjoy an abundant spring to summer display of intoxicating loveliness.
You will have to be patient for at least a year before you can enjoy the flowers of Peony Roses, as they resent having their roots disturbed, but the wait will be justified for many years as they are extremely long lived.
Peony Roses need cold winters (3-5C at least) for best flowers. Peony roses are heavy feeders, so you need to fertilise them regularly. They also like lime, and lot’s of it, so be sure to indulge them.
