This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

A highly valued ornamental tree with a graceful habit, and low growing branches. The deeply veined leaves turn golden brown before they fall.
The European Green Beech, or English Beech provides dense shade through summer and makes an outstanding specimen tree with smooth, dark grey bark.
European Beech has mall flowers open in spring. It is monoecious, which means it has both male and female flowers on the same plant. The male flowers are pendent, while the females are short and upright. The female flowers are followed by spiny bracts containing nuts.
Fairly quick to grow and establish, taking between 20 and 50 years to reach maturity. English Beech has a wide, spreading crown. Grow in moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil.
English Beech is useful for lawn plantings, in parks or for hedging.
