River Lily Alba

The brilliant white blooms open along upright stems amid grass like foliage. You will have a succession of these stars from late summer and all through autumn. Up to 14 flowers open on each stem. The flowers of River Lilies are also excellent for vases.
River Lily leaves grow up to 40cm tall. The leaves will form nice, dense clumps.
These rhizomes are found naturally in boggy meadows and alongside rivers in South Africa, and it is from there that they get their common name, River Lilies.
River Lilies are almost evergreen,
Previously known as Schizostylis coccinea, but was reclassified as Hesperantha in 1996.
