Multi branched heads of golden yellow blooms that last for up to four months. The flowers are held aloft on strong stems over soft, silver green foliage. Balkan's Yarrow is sun loving, dry tolerant plant.
In good soil, Balkan Yarrow will form clumps at a steady pace and will need to be divided
every three years or so. Plant in full sun and keep moist in active growth.
Balkan Yarrow grows well in moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil, it isn't too fussy as long as the drainage is good. It is a Mediterranean plant that loves a bit of sun.
Achillea is commonly known as Sneezewort or Yarrow. When the foliage is crushed it has a fragrance which can cause sneezing. In fact, dried leaves were used to make sneezing powder.
