This bright little plant is two different species that have been grafted. It is so easy care and a bright little talking point to have as a house or patio plant.
The bright cactus on top is a Gymnocalycium, which is also known as Moon Cactus. It produces no chlorophyll and uses the graft to help it survive.
The base of the plant is an epiphytic cactus, Hylocereus. Grown alone it's scalloped stems would scramble along the ground, or hang from baskets or branches, with little white aerial roots. Mature plants will eventually produce big, funnel shaped flowers, and if pollinated, fantastical fruits commonly known as Dragon Fruits.
Together they make a nice ornamental plant. Grow as you would a cactus. Use a well drained cactus potting mix and position in filtered light.
