Cushion Plant

This charming alpine perennial forms a dense, low-growing mat of finely textured green foliage that creates an attractive evergreen carpet throughout the year. During summer, small yellow flowers appear above the foliage, adding subtle colour and enhancing its natural appeal.

Its spreading habit makes it an excellent choice for rock gardens, alpine troughs, retaining walls, gravel gardens and between stepping stones, where it can soften edges and fill gaps with lush greenery. The tight, cushion-like growth provides valuable texture and helps suppress weeds while creating a neat, natural appearance.

Thriving in sunny to partly shaded positions, it performs best in well-drained soil and tolerates challenging conditions once established. Its compact habit allows it to blend beautifully with other alpine and low-growing perennials without competing for attention.

Easy to grow and requiring minimal maintenance, it is ideal for gardeners seeking a reliable evergreen groundcover with year-round interest. Combining attractive foliage, delicate flowers and excellent garden versatility, it brings texture, softness and a natural alpine character to a wide range of landscape settings.
