Helenium Moerheim Beauty
Fabulous red and copper flowers that bloom and bloom. Each flower is 6-8cm across. It is adored by gardeners as well as beneficial insects such as bees as well as birds.
Helenium Moerheim Beauty holds the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit.
In beds and borders, plant in groups for an amazing colour show late summer to autumn. Once the petals fall, the spent flower cones (seed heads) will remain ornamental into winter.
Keep the soil moist for best flowers and plant in a sunny position. The soil needs to be well drained and humus rich is ideal. In summer, remove spent flower heads to encourage more blooms. The flowers grow larger in areas where there are cool nights.
Heleniums look best planted in groups or swathes.
Good companions include Crocosmia, Dahlias such as 'Bishop of Llandaff' or Alstroemerias. In ideal conditions, the colony will gradually increase year after year.
Heleniums make great cut flowers.
