After Flower Care: Deadhead spent flower spikes to tidy and encourage continued flowering. Cut back foliage in late autumn once it dies down. Divide clumps every few years to maintain vigour and keep spread in check.
Notes: Named for its graceful, gently curved, swan-neck-like flower spikes; white flowers carry a light, spicy perfume. Best planted in drifts or beside ponds and water features. In very rich, moist conditions it can spread more vigorously than expected — divide or contain as needed. Watch for slugs/snails and rust or leaf spot in humid, crowded conditions.
