Plant Type: Evergreen perennial
Size (HxW): ‘Starburst’: 40cm x 30cm. ‘Dark Star’: 30cm x 60cm.
Depth & Spacing: Plant at the same level as in the pot with the roots spread evenly below the soil surface. Space plants 30-60cm apart, see above.
Soil: Moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil. They are pretty adaptable.
Aspect: Full sun to semi shade
Climate: Cool to Sub Tropical
Frost: Hardy to -5C
Water: Water in to establish, this can take four to six weeks of regular watering, then you only need worry if rainfall is low over summer heat.
Fertiliser: They aren’t heavy feeders, a little tomato fertiliser (or similar) in spring will keep them blooming.
Flowering Time: Spring to late winter
After Flower Care: Remove spent flowers to tidy. A hard prune won’t hurt if they have become lanky, they will soon bounce back.
Notes: Useful along edges, borders, rock gardens, pots or as a ground cover. Foliage and flowers are edible.
