Dreamy, soft yellow petals topped with carmine pink striations. But wait, there is more! The colouring changes as the blooms mature, the petals soften to cream and their colourful tips deepen to a ravishing red. The overall effect when you have good numbers side by side is beyond stunning. You want more I hear you say, how about the fact that this is a multi flowering tulip so you will have more than one bloom per bulb! The glorious flowers stretch up to 10cm across and open mid season.

Voluminous and voluptuous, Double Tulips gradually unfurl to expose layer upon layer of glorious petals. The large flowers are long lasting on short to medium stems. Double Tulips are great in pots or garden beds. The large blooms can be used create platforms of colour in your beds.

Tulips look best en masse. When planting keep this in mind and plant them quite densely.

Tulips have a bit of a Prima Donna reputation but with a little know how they are easy as pie! An easy way to remember when to plant your tulips is to do so around Mother`s Day! This timing is ideal because by this time of year the soil has cooled sufficiently for planting.

All our bulbs are ready to grow; they do not need to be chilled, which is one less thing to do.

It is a good idea to prepare the soil for their arrival by adding some delicious organic matter. Tulips need good drainage and at least six hours sun a day to flower at their best. Plant the bulbs 15-20cm deep with the pointed end up. Space your tulips 10-15cm apart, planting closer for a more spectacular show.

In most areas it is recommended you lift and store your Tulip bulbs once their foliage has browned. You don’t need to do this if you live in an area with frost, the soil is shaded or mulched through summer and the ground does not become soggy during their dormant period. In every other case it is recommended.
