Unusual, plump foliage that grows in a fan shape. It slowly forms a clump. Parts of the leaves are almost transparent. It will be admired by all who gaze upon it.
These gorgeous evergreens are undemanding and long lived. The small plant size makes them just right for pots, both indoors and out. The variation in forms and texture of this diverse species were developed mostly to protect themselves from predators, are a gardener’s delight.
Haworthia trunctata hails from South Africa where it grows mainly underground, to avoid the harsh environment. It is pulled below by it’s robust roots.
Haworthia are rarely bothered by pests and require no fuss. Once established, this Haworthia will slowly multiply with offsets or ‘pups’. The most important thing to remember with Haworthias is not to water them! Over watering, especially during dormancy will cause the plant to rot, their swollen leaves are designed to store water, this enables them to withstands long, dry periods.
