Deep purple leaves ideal that create gorgeous contrast in the garden. Salvia 'Purple Knockout' is a tough, dry tolerant plant.
The soft blue flowers bloom over the foliage spring to summer but are not the main drawcard for this plant, it is the dark purple leaves of Salvia 'Purple Knockout' that are the real appeal. It looks fantastic as edging, in pots, beneath roses or massed as a ground cover.
Grow Salvias in a sunny location in well drained soil. Salvias should be watered in and are then dry tolerant once established. They look wonderful in beds, borders or dry gardens. Salvias have a vigorous growth and are easy care.
This is a semi evergreen to herbaceous variety which should be pruned hard in winter or early spring.
