Gorgeous cream and green petals with a strong, maroon red heart. The flowers are a whopping 25cm across. Up to 20 pendant blooms will open on a stem, early to mid summer.

The flowers of 'Kushi Maya' have a sweet scent and last well in a vase. If you sniff closely, you will notice a different fragrance in the cool of the evening to the warmth of the day, a result of the species cross. Lilium 'Kushi Maya' is the first cross between the Nepalese Lilium (Lilium nepalense) and an Oriental Lilium (Lilium x auratum x speciosum). Using the latest scientific techniques, Lily breeder, Arie Pederse, successfully crossed the temperamental Nepalese Lily with a fragrant and strong growing, white Oriental. It could be just the start, this cross opens up a whole new world of Lily hybridization!

The name 'Kushi Maya' is a fond Nepalese sweet talk to children, basically meaning 'happy love'. A sweet name for a sweet bloom.

The strong stems grow taller, the longer the bulbs have to establish. Initial stems will be 80-100cm, stretching up to 150cm as they settle in. Plant Lily 'Kushi Maya' into humus rich, well drained, acid PH soil for best results. Water in well, and keep moist during active growth. A strong growing variety that will multiply steadily.
