Gold and violet blue buds open to a soft violet, and cream centre. The bloom of Crocus 'Firefly' has a glorious, golden heart. It is stunning from bud to bloom.

Each Crocus 'Firefly' flower is around 10cm tall. Up to three blooms form from each bulb. A small cluster of narrow, deep green leaves surround the blooms. Each leaf has a single, silver stripe. Crocus sieberi will tolerate more shade than most Crocus.

Crocus grow best in Cool to Mediterranean climates where they look best in rockeries, beds and pots. Plant in a sunny spot into well drained soil.

Crocus will tolerate light shade, such as under deciduous trees, especially in more temperate zones. The bulbs don't need to be lifted every year, so you can allow them to naturalise and only dig and divide after four or five years. Protect new growth from slugs and snails. Fertilise Crocus annually in spring. They are suitable for planting in pots.
