Each Cottage Gladioli corm produces two or three spikes with up to seven flowers spilling from each! What`s more, there is no need to stake these low maintenance bulbs as they have compact and strong stems.
Cottage Gladioli are the perfect height for naturalising amongst perennials and they are tolerant of heat and frost.
Cottage Gladioli flowers are ideal for cutting and filling your home with colour. If you pick them as the first flower begins to open they will last longer in the vase.
Cottage Gladioli bulbs are just as hardy as their larger counterparts and like a similar growing environment. Plant into a well drained soil in a sunny position; they need around six hours sun a day to thrive. Cottage Gladioli bulbs are best left in the ground year after year and will bear more blooms as they establish. You will need to dig and divide only every four or five years.
