Stunning, deep red petals with a soft fuzzy covering which serves to magnify the flower colour. The sizeable golden stamens provide a stunning compliment. The flowers average 4-9cm across. They open on short stems from as early as late winter, but mainly in spring. You can’t help but love these plants they are just so dainty and usual.

Perfect for rockeries, pots and the fronts of beds or borders. The longer they are established the more blooms you will receive.

The blooms open freely and for an exceptional period once established, especially considering the size of the plant. The show keeps on going with their handsome seed heads, that resemble those of Clematis in summer.

Along with the flowers, the grey green foliage has a soft fuzz or furry covering, in the sun it gives the plant a special glow. The foliage and seed head continues to look attractive through summer before fading in autumn. Seeds can be collected or left to self sow.

Pulsatilla are easy to grow as long as they are planted in a well drained soil in a full sun to light shade position. They will tolerate dry conditions once established.

Previously known as Anemone pulsatilla. Commonly known as Pasque Flower or Meadow Anemone. They hail from the mountainous regions of Eurasia and North America.

Pulsatilla is from the Latin for flowers that sway. Rote Glocke is German for red bells which refers to the shape of the flower.
