Baby's Breath Summer Sparkles

Before you roll your eyes and scoff at the old fashioned nature of Baby's Breath, take the time to check Gypsohila 'Summer Sparkles' out. (Or if you are like me get excited because Baby's Breath has always been amazing).
Gypsohila 'Summer Sparkles' has come leaps and bounds from the Gypsophila of old. It is wonderfully compact yet tall and well branched and absolutely totally covered in flowers from late spring to midsummer (November to Januaryish). The blooms are double and have a light fragrance. The airy sprays of flowers are fantastic in vases and can be easily dried.
Gypsohila 'Summer Sparkles' makes a great filler plant in beds and borders where it's light, airy form is hard to beat. It is a must have for cutting gardens and they even grow well in containers, though they will not grow as tall as they do in the garden. A great combination plant for spring flowering bulbs as they are emerging as the bulb foliage is fading.
Grow Gypsohila 'Summer Sparkles' in moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil. Choose a sunny spot and water in well. They become more dry tolerant as they establish. The stems are self supporting.
