Fab flowers and foliage.
This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

Fabulous Kniphofia like flowers rise up in the middle of autumn bringing colour for around a month. The petals have a blue-green tips that accents the bloom perfectly. A rare beauty.
The gorgeous, glaucus foliage is upright with wavy edges, emerges after the flower and lasts much of the year.
Veltheimia capensis grows through winter and dies back in summer. Though it isn`t dormant for long, as the new leaves begin to emerge in autumn. In fact if you don`t get frost and it gets a decent amount of water year round, it may stay evergreen.
The common name of Sand Lily refers to its endemic home in South Africa`s Eastern Capes` coastal scrubland.
Veltheimia capensis grows well in filtered light in humus rich, well drained soil. Plant the bulb at or just beneath ground level and water in. They are best left to naturalise. The Sand Lily is also suitable for pots, it is best to use a cactus/succulent mix.
