Japanese Anemone 'Elite Pure White'

Bright white, single flowers with a defining crown of golden stamens. For ease of care, impact and versatility this is one of our favourite plants. They will grow well with just 4 hours of sun a day, but can cope with more if kept watered. ‘Elite’ is a more compact and free flowering variety than the standard form.

The flowers open on narrowly branched stems over lush, deep green foliage. Japanese Anemones will quickly grow to form a healthy clump and the seed can be left to sow or collected. They are a good choice for adding height to a border and don’t make too many demands.

It is easy to grow and easy on the eye. The longer Japanese Anemones have to establish, the more flowers you will be able to enjoy. Then, even after the flowers have faded, the seed heads remain decorative and can be left to extend the show.

Plant Japanese Anemone in moist, humus rich, well drained soil. They grow best in morning sun or part shade though, with a bit of extra water will succeed in sun.

Cut back Japanese Anemones in winter when they become untidy and add some mulch to protect the plant. Alternatively leave the foliage until spring and then prune to tidy.

The flowers of Japanese Anemones can be picked for indoor displays.
