Crocosmia 'Columbus'
Garden gold.
In stock

The rich, golden petals glow amid the sword shaped, upright foliage throughout the hot months. Crocosmia ‘Columbus’ has a long season of interest with colourful, purple buds, vibrant, two toned flowers of gold followed by handsome seed pods. As well as gardeners, birds and beneficial insects love them.
A great plant choice for structure and colour, this Crocosmia toughs out dry conditions and loves the sunshine.
Crocosmia flowers are good for picking and have a decent vase life. What is more, the plants are virtually pest and disease free as well as being easy care.
Crocosmia is quick to establish and will gradually spread into a healthy clump. They are low maintenance and can prosper for many years without you having to lift a finger. The bulbs can be left to naturalise and can be divided to increase stocks every two or three years.
Plant in moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot. Water in, then they become dry tolerant once established. They are also known as Montbretia.
