This evergreen Agapanthus is pretty much fool proof and looks good year round. It is low maintenance, isn’t fussy about soil and can bring you well over six months of blooms, from as early as October and as late as May.

The bright white flower heads of Agapanthus ‘Perpetual Peace’ stretch up to 10cm across and are great for picking.

The strappy leaves are lovely and glossy and nice and dense. They make a year round feature in gardens or containers.

Tough, hardy and dry tolerant too! Agapanthus are easy care plants that provide months of flowering with very little effort. The gorgeous, strappy, evergreen foliage is the perfect complement to the tall blooms.

Plant in a full sun to part shade position in a moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil, they are at home in sandy soils too. They are robust and resilient and don’t have any issues with pests or disease. Water to establish (plants take around four weeks for the roots to penetrate the surrounding soils), then only if rainfall is low. By removing the spent flower heads you will encourage even more to bloom and extend the season. Dig and divide every three or four years or as required.

For those who live in an area where Agapanthus could be a concern, “Australian trials resulted in little to no seed set” PMA (Plant Management Australia).
