Both the foliage and the flowers are worthy of a grow. While rare, it is relatively easy to grow and care for and is sure to create a talking point in your garden.
The hooded spathes are a glowing green, with creamy white striping creating a mesmerising pattern. The matching green spadix peers out from the pitcher, ready to strike.
The long, slender leaves grow into three lobes. It averages one or two leaves in a season. The leaves grow 30-60cm tall.
Plant Arisaema in humus rich, moist, well drained soil. They are woodland plants that grow on the forest edge, so a bright light or morning sun position is ideal. Keep moist during growth, spring to summer. It is dioecious, depending on conditions will produce a male/female flower. It becomes dormant with the heat of summer.
