Petite plants with lovely big, decorative flowers, up to a whopping 15-20 across. The white flowers have a strong pink blush at their tips that bleeds back through the petal. Early and energetic bloomers.

Dwarf Dahlias are real pocket rockets. You can squeeze more colour into the garden as a filler, or add lasting, potted colour to the patio. They can flower for up to five months, are naturally self branching so don’t need pinching and they don’t stretch, remaining lovely, upright and bushy. What more could you ask for? A Fleuroselect* award winner.

Though the plant is petite, the flowers are a full sized. The compact growth has superior branching and the blooms abundant. They all flower at the same time which enables you to mix and match colours to your specifications. In pots a 20cm size will be filled to overflowing. As seen at KaBloom Festival of Flowers this year, we filled our paddocks and gardens with these stunning bloomers and they were hugely popular with visitors.

Plant Dahlias into moist, humus rich, well drained soil in a sunny spot, they need at least six hours to flower well and will flourish with plenty of light. In pots use a good quality potting mix and ensure there is adequate drainage holes. In pots you will need to ensure you water well once they are up and growing, if they dry out they will sulk and you won’t get a good display. You will also need to add fertiliser regularly to the container, as per the directions on the pack.

Dahlias have big blooms for a long period so fertiliser is important, a tomato fertiliser is a good choice. The addition of Sulphate of Potash, will encourage strong blooms and general plant health.

Remove spent flowers to keep the plants looking good and encourage more blooms. The flowers will last well in a vase, but the stems are shorter than standard Dahlias, as they sit just to the edge of the foliage.
