Japanese Anemone 'Queen Charlotte'
Garden royalty.
Short delay - awaiting stock

A gorgeous yet staunch choice for a morning sun spot with masses of semi double, baby pink flowers. Each bloom has up to 15 petals, where the usual pinks only have six, giving them a more impressive, fuller look.
Anemone 'Queen Charlotte' holds the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit, so you know it has been put through its paces, is easy care and looks good.
For ease of care, impact and versatility, Japanese Anemones are one of our favourite plants.
They are a good choice for adding height to a border and really don't make too many demands. Try them beneath trees, along edges (mine are in a narrow, low light pathway along the house), in large pots, massed in shady spot or even in the cutting garden.
The flowers open on narrowly branched stems over lush, deep green foliage. Japanese Anemones grow quickly to form a healthy clump with foliage for much of the year.
The longer Japanese Anemones have to establish, the more flowers you will be able to enjoy. Then, even after the flowers have faded, the seed heads can remain decorative and extend the show.
Plant Japanese Anemone in moist, humus rich, well drained soil. They grow best in morning sun or part shade, flowering with just four hours sun a day. Though with a bit of extra water can succeed in sun. A light application of fertiliser in spring will help encourage the best blooms. Water to establish, then only if rainfall is low. They are incredibly versatile, tolerating moist soils and dry soils once established.
Cut back Japanese Anemones in winter when they become untidy and add some mulch to protect the plant if you live in a cold climate. Alternatively, in more mild areas you can leave the foliage until spring and then prune to tidy allowing the fresh new growth to shine. The seed can be left to self sow or collected.
Japanese Anemone 'Queen Charlotte' is also known as 'Konigin Charlotte'.
