A stunning, sky blue flower.
This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

These small bulbs are big on show. Chilean Crocus Leichtlinii blooms open wide, around 3-4 cm. They have a large white eye that graduates to a pale to deepening, sky blue border. There is more white than your average Chilean Blue Crocus making the blue even more striking. If their beauty wasnt enough, they also have a soft, sweet fragrance. Each bulb sends up one to two flowers and averages two leaves. The flowers stems grow to 10cm. The leaves of Leichtlinii are wider than the species.
Chilean Crocus Leichtlinii grows best in sharply drained soil in rock gardens or pots where they can be appreciated. The bulbs will multiply by division and can be also propagated by seed. Plant 5cm deep in full sun to light shade. They like winter water and to remain relatively dry in dormancy.
Endemic to the Andes in Chile, they grow best in cool climates. Ensure you protect them from slugs and snails, they arent cheap and you dont want waste them for fodder. In saying that while are a little pricy when you see them bloom we doubt you will regret their purchase.
