Miscanthus 'Cloudehill'
New in 2024.
This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

An all new Australian cultivar of this much loved ornamental grass. Discovered as a seedling in Jeremy and Valerie Francis’s well known garden, ‘Cloudehill’ in Olinda. It was found growing in their gardens and their keen eye and instincts found it a notable selection. Believed to be a cross of M. sinsensis and N. nepalensis, the evergreen foliage is narrow with an elegant arch. It flowers well into winter and offers handsome colour. We are so pleased to offer this special new grass to you.
It is absolutely fabulous in drifts as part of lawn schemes, in clumps in cottage gardens, in pots, massed displays or along fence lines. The foliage is quite upright, arching in a relaxed way towards the top of the plant.
Summer to autumn Miscanthus ‘Cloudehill’ is freely crowned with creamy-pink feather like blooms – the colouring changes in the light and as they mature to bronze and silver.
Miscanthus ‘Cloudehill’ is a clump forming semi evergreen grass that is easy to grow. Plant Miscanthus into any well drained soil in a sunny position, water to establish then only if rainfall is low. Dry tolerant once established.
Miscanthus ‘Cloudehill’ can be left to stand over winter and where remains decorative and attractive to local birdlife. Cut back late winter or early spring to allow the new foliage to shine through. Will gradually form a nice clump.
