This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

Ginkgo biloba is the oldest living tree species. The trees date back to the Jurassic period. There are trees in China believed to be over 1,000 years old.
Ginkgo biloba trees have lime green leaves that turn a glowing shade of yellow in autumn. It really is quite a show. They also known as Maidenhair or Duck's Foot Tree due to the unique shape of the foliage.
Plant Gingko trees in full sun to part shade in a well drained soil. Humus rich soil is ideal though they are quite adaptable. They are slow growing but well worth the wait.
Female species of Ginkgo biloba produce fruit. If harvested, the seed can be cooked and eaten, when crushed the fruit has an unpleasant odour. As these are seedlings there is a fifty fifty chance which sex you will get. Though you don't have too much to worry or get too excited about, it can take up to 20 years to come into fruit and also needs a male tree nearby. The male trees develop green catkins.
The leaves of Ginkgo plants are used in herbal medicines as a memory aid.
