The base of each petal is bright white with red brush stroke at the tip of each petal. In a double layer, Millennium Star is candy for the eye.
Double Hippeastrum are the triumphant result of years of intensive hybridising. Double Hippeastrum are just as easy to grow, with twice the petals of the single varieties.
Hippeastrum are large flowers that open on tall, straight stems. The trumpet blooms last well in the garden and also cut for indoor displays.
Hippeastrum grow best in humus rich, moist, well drained soils. Though well drained is the most important factor. Hippeastrum grow Australia wide. Keep plants protected from slugs and snails. Keep Hippeastrum moist in growth and relatively dry over winter.
Hippeastrum are semi evergreen and will go dormant in cool climates.
Grow Hippeastrum in pots or gardens. Pots can be bought indoors to enjoy when in flower.
