These Aconitum flowers open on tall stems, above the deep green foliage summer to autumn. This is at the perfect time, as most colour is fading. The bright colours of Monkshood ‘Arendsii’ really stand out. The stunning blooms of ‘Arendsii’ make excellent cut flowers. Monkshood ‘Arendsii’ is highly recommended. We think this is an unbeatable price for a rare beauty. Aconitum is native to the grasslands of Russia and China, Aconitum are beautiful perennials with neat clumping foliage and tall flowers. The visible flowers are actually sepals, which form a hood, hence the common name Monkshood. This hood actually conceals the flowers. Aconitum are good for planting in beds and borders and are perfect in cottage gardens. If planted in an exposed area, stems may need staking.
