Clematis ‘Piilu’ is a free flowering variety with a compact growth habit. The light purple to pink flowers average 7cm across and have a deeper magenta bar through the centre of each petal. Pruning group 2. ‘Piilu’ means ‘Little Duckling’ in Estonian. Jackmanii are large flowering Clematis and they make a dazzling display. The vine tendrils in bloom become covered in flowers, like brilliant jewels strung up in your garden. The Jackmanii Clematis flowers are large and luscious, 10-25cm wide. These varieties grow to a compact 2-3m, they make a statement of beauty without being overpowering. The spring flower show is nothing short of wonderful. Perfect to soften harsh edges - posts, pergolas fences and walls or even trees. Jackmanii Clematis are to grow and ideal for beginners. They require little in the way of care and are very rewarding.
