(33B) Enkianthus 'Pink Bells'
Stunning red autumn foliage.
This product is currently out of stock and unavailable.

A small, deciduous shrub that turns brilliant red, orange and yellow in autumn.
Pendant floral bells open late spring to summer. Blooms are cream coloured with a pink tip and veins. The flowers open in clusters of 3-10 at the ends of the branches. They form a dense covering over the shrub or small tree. Each bell shaped bloom is 1-2cm across. The blooms are suitable for picking.
Flowers are followed by small ornamental fruits that turn brown and fall in autumn. They aren’t overly showy.
Plant Enkianthus ‘Pink Bells’ in cool, humus rich soil. Acid to neutral soil is preferred, they won’t tolerate lime. Plant in a position that it won’t be dry in hot afternoon sun.
New branches have a red flush. Old stems are smooth and grey to brown. An excellent specimen tree or as part of a border.
A colourful shrub with stunning red foliage in autumn. Spring to summer pendant bunches of bells decorate foliage. Easy to care for in well drained, slightly acid soil.
