(33A) Chinese Fringe Tree

A small, spreading shrub that is covered in white fringed, softly fragrant flowers spring to summer. The flowers turn the whole tree white, quite an amazing sight.

On female specimens (and it is the luck of the draw) the blooms are followed by ornamental blue fruit. White Fringe Tree has a moderate growth rate and is best planted in full sun to part shade. Grow in well drained soil. Keep moist whilst establishing.

The bark is peeling brown and grey. It becomes fissured with age.

A rare and wonderful find.
