Peach and apricot brindle blooms open in profusion for months on end. The flowers are semi double on fuzzy stems to 30cm.
By dead heading you will extend the flowering show. Geums are easy to grow plants that put on a big show.
Geums are relatively shade tolerant and grow best in morning sun, they should be sheltered from hot afternoon sun. You can weave them through beds and borders, plant them beneath deciduous trees or use as a ground cover.
Geums prefer a humus rich, moist, well drained soil. Water them in well on planting and keep them relatively moist whilst in flower. Add a slow release fertiliser in spring and late summer.
